Soul food is about to make a comeback, but with a health-conscious twist. A new soul food chain will sweet the United States in 2010, but with a focus on healthy versions of classics of Southern cooking. Chitlins and black-eyed peas will still be on the menu, but made with lean meats and vegetable shortening; vegetarian selections will also be available.

By 2012, 30 percent of the books published in the United States will relate directly to Internet content, including books about peer-to-peer file-sharing programs, books about Web browsers, books about how to make films for the Web, books based on work originally debuted in blogs, and books navigating the best online content. This phenomenon will become so pronounced that bookstore employees will mockingly refer to themselves as employees of Internet tech support companies.
